Huq Shakil 011 | Echoes of Eid Eid Series Matchbox – An Eight-Box Story Eid is not merely a celebration. It is a rhythm of emotions - anticipation, devotion, reunion, laughter, and warmth. With this special eight-box matchbox series, I sought to capture the essence of Eid within the intimate scale of miniature art. Each tiny box holds a moment - carefully composed to reflect the spirit of the festival as it is lived and felt. From the heartfelt embrace after Eid prayer, to the radiant joy of children in their new clothes receiving Salami (সালামি ). From the quiet beauty of morning light touching festive streets, to the comforting scene of semai (সেমাই) being prepared at home. The laughter of children, the glow of togetherness, the softness of watercolor textures - all have been thoughtfully arranged within the humble dimensions of a matchbox. This series is an attempt to preserve Eid not just as an event, but as memory - small in size, yet expansive in feeling. Each box stands alone as a miniature artwork.
