I'm Guoxiang from Changzhou, P.R. China, born in December 1945. My fascination with matchbox collecting began at 17. As a former beekeeper, I've travelled extensively, amassing matchboxes from various regions.
In the 80s and 90s, my wife and I ran a family shop while engaging in our passion for matchbox collecting. Alongside our everyday business, we traded, exchanged, printed regular collector's issues of matchbox labels and cards, and organized exhibitions showcasing them. I'm passionate about studying matchbox history and even write poetry inspired by them.
For me, matchbox collecting is not just a hobby but a cherished tradition passed down through generations. Currently, I'm working on a book to share the beauty of collecting matchbox labels with younger generations.
